Finding Wonder Women at the Library: Online Biographies and Encyclopedias

March is Women’s History Month! Here are some databases that can help with your assignments and projects:

• American History - highlighting the Women’s Rights Movement
• Biography in Context - look up anyone from Betsy Ross to Beyonce
• FreedomFlix - under the “Our Democracy” tab you will find the “Women’s Right to Vote” information
• Kids InfoBits - go to the “People” section and click on “Historical Figures” you will find information on Florence Nightingale, Amelia Earhart, and many more
• Pop Culture Universe: Icons, Idols, Ideas - this is cool for a student who wants to look up Marilyn Monroe or Wonder Woman
• TrueFlix - has a “Biography” section you will find a book and video on Malala Yousafzai, the youngest person to ever be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize
• U.S. History in Context - look up a person or time in history using this database
